Rae Earl: letter to my younger self

Rae Earl is the award-winning English author of the best-selling book My Fat Mad Teenage Diary, a collection of diary entries she wrote as a teenager growing up in the 1980s while suffering from severe mental illness. Indeed, Earl often heard voices, struggled with obsessive compulsive disorder and as a young girl was placed in an adult psychiatric hospital. The book was adapted into the hit television show, My Mad Fat Diary, with Scottish actor Sharon Rooney playing the author.
