“The logistics of poverty are what kills you”

 Street Roots - USA 07 April 2019

Linda Tirado rose to fame as the voice of the working poor in the US when her essay ‘Why I Make Terrible Decisions, or, Poverty Thoughts,’ went viral. It was picked up by The Huffington Post, Forbes and The Nation and she went on to write the book Hand to Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America. She speaks to Street Roots about her experiences of living in poverty – and the changes that America needs to make so that people in minimum wage jobs can afford to live in the land of opportunity. (3044 Words) - By Jared Paben
