While Israel regards East Jerusalem as part of Israel, the estimated 300,000 Palestinians that live there do not. Yet increasing numbers of Palestinians are making the difficult decision to become Israeli citizens in the hopes it will make their lives easier in a city where political and religious tensions are high.
