Brendan O’Carroll: “I always wanted to please my mammy”

The Big Issue UK 16 March 2019

Irish comedian, writer and actor Brendan O’Carroll is the man behind Mrs Brown’s Boys, one of the UK’s biggest TV shows. The series about a mother and her brood, which is also a smash hit in Ireland, Australia and Canada, began as a successful stage show and has now spawned a feature film. Both centre on the show’s main character, Agnes Brown, played by O’Carroll. He tells The Big Issue about the influence his own mother had on his career in comedy, by giving him that first trait required of every entertainer: self-belief. (1253 Words) - By Brian Beacom
