Health and homelessness: “You can’t be well if you’re sleeping on a sidewalk”

For three decades, the National Health Care for the Homeless Council has provided comprehensive health care to people experiencing homelessness across the U.S. Ahead of his retirement, founder John Lozier reflects about how providing health care to homeless people has evolved. He also considers what still needs to be done to help the country’s most vulnerable citizens, including creating universal care. “We need to understand that housing is health care.
